LIVING WITH THE ROMA
Many people have wanted to know what our living conditions will be like in Albania. Will we live in an apartment or a house? In town or outside of town? What are the houses like? Will we have electricity, water, and heat? While we don't have a place picked out quite yet, we do know that we desire to live in the Roma community where we will be doing ministry. Their community is located in the northeastern outskirts of Tirana, the capital city. The Roma live in extreme poverty, in homes made of scrap material with no running water, sewage system, or electricity. While we do not feel led to live in these exact same conditions, we will certainly be living out of our comfort zone. We will be living in stark contrast to what we are used to in America, nevertheless, it will provide for our basic needs and enable us to open our home for ministry opportunities amongst the Roma. No matter where
we live or what kind of home we live in, it is our desire that it will be place of great hope, a place of comfort and joy, and a beacon of light to what is otherwise a darkened world.
Back to top COLEMAN'S CORNER
Hi, my name is Coleman and I am 11 years old. I am looking forward to going to Albania with my family. I hope God will use me to help the Roma people to know Him. I hope they will allow Jesus into their hearts and have eternal life. I want to tell them about what Jesus taught to His disciples. I also want to tell the Roma about God's Word, the Bible. I could also bring a Bible to help them understand God better. I will treat them kindly and show them how Christ treated others. I am looking forward to meeting the Roma people and making many friends with them. I am also excited about helping to teach them how to read and write. Another thing I am looking forward to is meeting other missionaries where we will live. Oh, and I really like the pizza they have in Albania too!
Back to top HALFWAY THERE!
Good news! As of July 19th, we have raised 50% of our monthly support goal. This means we have 50% more to go! Our departure is contingent upon the completion of raising 100% of our monthly support. Our prayer and hope is to be leaving around the December timeframe, however we must remain open to leaving sooner or later as God leads. In the meantime, we continue to welcome your financial support, in any amount. And most importantly, we welcome any and all prayer support. Will you please prayerfully consider becoming a part of our team either as a prayer partner and/or financial partner? Will you help us get to the 100% goal in these next few months? Please know that your support will have an eternal impact upon a group of people who do not know Christ Jesus – yet!
"Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples."
(I Chronicles 16:24)
